About UsWe are a friendly, active, ministry and mission-minded, traditional Baptist church.
First Baptist Church of La Feria, Texas
FBC La Feria is a friendly, active, ministry and mission-minded, traditional Baptist church. Our ministry and mission efforts include a fruitful prison ministry, an active partnership with a growing sister Baptist church in Matamoros, Mexico, and a faithful prayer ministry. We also welcome and minister with dozens of Winter Texan seniors who make FBC La Feria their church away from home during the winter months. Although the membership is predominately Anglo and Hispanic with an average age over 50, our vision is for our church to reach and reflect the community which is predominately composed of Hispanic children and young adults.
About Our Faith
We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired word of God and the sole basis for our beliefs and practices. First Baptist Church, La Feria, subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the "Baptist Faith and Message” adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention on May 9, 1963. We believe in the one and only God and the trinity of God. We believe that eternal salvation is offered freely to all believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe in the priesthood of the believer, the autonomy of the local church, and in the freedom of and for religion.
Our Mission Statement
Recognizing the culture diversity of our surrounding community our Mission is focused on and driven from Matthew 28:19. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations.” We design our ministries and programs to maximize the discipleship process in the lives of people to whom we minister. Our intent is to minister to all people in our community, both English and Spanish speaking.
