There is always plenty of food at our house. The cupboards are full. However, they are full of both people food and pet food. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to tell the difference.

On at least 4 occasions, I have eaten either dog food or cat food. I am not proud of that. But it was not intentional, nor was it out of desperation. It was just hard to tell what was pet food.
There were puppy snacks shaped like people. There were cheesy knock off animal crackers. There were cookies that looked like Oreos in a cookie jar. All unlabeled! And I fell for them.
Most recently, Linda told me there were leftovers in the fridge from her lunch out. She neglected to say the leftovers were from everyone's lunch. And that they were meant for the dogs, not me!
I should not make a big deal of it. Before pet food was invented people and pets ate the same thing. In Matthew 15 a woman reminded Jesus, “Even the dogs eat the crumbs from the master’s table.” But she did not say that the master eats the crumbs from the dog’s table!
If I am completely honest, not all the pet food was that bad. In fact, on a few occasions, I ignorantly went back for seconds. Of course, now, the dogs look at me as competition.
